Porscha Alexandra Williams, 34, of Norwich, passed away suddenly on July 15, 2024. Born in Hartford, CT on August 12, 1989, she lived in Norwich for much of her life. Porscha graduated from Norwich Free Academy and then continued her education at Three Rivers Community College and Northern Maine Community College.
Following her higher educational pursuits, she returned to CT and forged a career in mental health and addiction services, working first at Martin House, Inc. and then Sound Community Services, Inc. Most recently she worked as an in-home caregiver.
Porscha was a bright light who shined like no other; known for her infectious enthusiasm, boundless energy, and deep love for her family and friends. She warmly welcomed people into her life, building a loving and inclusive extended/chosen family, to add to the large and loving family she was born into. She was the glue within her villages.
Porscha loved to travel - she would always say she “loved to twirl and leave a little bit of her beautiful spirit” in all of the places she visited: Canada, Puerto Rico, Aruba, Maine, Atlanta and Florida. She reveled in the adventure of seeing and doing new things - taking photos and making memories along the way. In the last couple years, Porscha embarked on an immense new life adventure as a mother, a role she fully and joyfully embraced, committing herself to giving her beloved twin daughters boundless love and support. Her bright light will continue to shine through them.
Porscha is survived by her mother Jennifer Williams and father, George White, her twin brother, Marcus Williams, her daughters, Ayla and Gianna Williams-House, her uncles Gerald, Norman, and Rodney Williams, her aunt Linda Williams, her half-siblings and many beloved cousins. She is predeceased by her maternal grandmother Mattie Williams and her uncles Ronald Williams and John Williams Jr.
We mourn the loss of a strong, beautiful and loving woman, who in her 34 years, made a big impact on the world and those around her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will be with us always.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 27th at 10am at Kelly Middle School at 25 Mahan Drive in Norwich CT. Arrangements are being handled by Church & Allen Funeral Service.
