He was born on Nov 24, 1925 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Abraham and Ruth (Halpern) Orenstein. He served his country in the US Army in WWII in the 16th Armored Div, 3rd Army as a Tank Commander in Czechoslovakia until his Honorable Discharge.
Milton owned and operated A&M Woodworking from 1953 – 1991. Much of his cabinetmaking craft adorns his own home along with many other homes regionally. On June 27, 1954 he married his beloved wife, Jacqueline (Freedman) who predeceased him in 2005. They traveled together around the world including a trip to Israel in 1972. In 1961 he joined Beth Jacob Synagogue in Norwich and was active in his community including serving as Cemetery Sexton of Norwich Hebrew Benevolent Cemeteries # 1,2,3 and 4 for over 15 years and was a member of the Chevra Kadisha. He was also a Mason of the Oxoboxo Lodge in Montville.
He is survived by his son Bruce Orenstein, Dr. Robert and Dr. Amy Foxx-Orenstein, and granddaughter, Aliya Orenstein. Besides his wife, he is also predeceased by his sister; Anita O. Heilweil (’70).
Memorial Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, Sept 2, 2015 at noon at Church & Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St., Norwich, CT immediately followed by interment at Hebrew Benevolent Cemetery #3, Middle Rd., Preston, CT with Military Honors.
