Mary Baillargeon

Norwich- Mary (Kane) Baillargeon, passed peacefully from this life on December 31, 2021 into the arms of Lord. She was born on March 13, 1933 to James and Marion (Thorpe) Kane. She joined three brothers, James (Bud) and John (Jack) Kane who predeceased her, and Richard, who survives her.

On August 2, 1952 she married Hector Baillargeon. They shared 66 years together until his passing in 2019. Together they raised 6 children guided by their Catholic faith. Mary was a devout Catholic and was very active in the Saint Patrick Cathedral parish. She served as lector, was a Eucharistic minister and volunteered at the rectory where she enjoyed sharing many laughs with her friends.

Mary worked for the Norwich Public Schools as a secretary for many years before retiring to spend time with her ever-growing family. She was an avid professional sports fan, as well as a loyal supporter of her family’s involvement in activities. Dedication to family was her priority and she will be dearly missed.

She is survived by children Mary Ellen Lunt, Dennis Baillargeon, Eileen Baillargeon, Nancy Pelletier, Raymond (Amy) Baillargeon and Tricia Baillargeon. Also survived by 10 grandchildren Rebecca (Kyle) Kendrick, Jill Jeznach, Mary Beth (Yamil) Dip, Timothy Baillargeon, Meagan Johns, Katie Pelletier, Eric, Jason and Rachel Baillargeon and Dante Guarnaccia and 10 great grandchildren Olivia and Kole Kendrick, Saige, Avery and Gavin Jeznach, Yamil Jr., Navarro and Johan Dip and Logan and Leiland Johns. Mary was predeceased by her son in law Edward Lunt.

Due to the pandemic, there are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 am at St. Patrick Cathedral followed by burial at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
