Dear Jim and Cathy,  I just heard today of your mother's passing last October.  I had sent a quick note to Bill on Facebook after seeing a post from him and inquired after Mimi.  He wrote and told me today she had died last October. 

I'm so very sorry to learn she is gone but more importantly that it was so long before I knew and could offer my condolences. Your mother and father have always held a very special place in my heart.  Our families were connected so closely for so long.  I just know that your parents and sitting around a kitchen table with my parents and having coffee and something to eat and talking and laughing like they do so many times for so many years.  

I will arrange to have a memorial Mass celebrated for Mimi in the hospital chapel and send you a Mass card when I get to work tomorrow.  I loved your Mom.

Dear Jim and Cathy, Sorry I waited so long to express my condolences. I always enjoyed visiting with Aunt Mimi. Even my boys remember her -- but mostly riding on the tractor. It's hard to believe the "older generation" is almost gone and that very soon that's who we will be. It's already happened on my mother's side. I think of Mimi often -- (I never knew her name was Mary Ann) and will continue to. My heart is with you.

I too have many fond memories of spending time at Mimi's house, on Monroe St., as a child.  She was a gracious hostess of many “tea times” with myself and my mother Beatrice.  My brothers and I spent many summer days at Mimi & Jim's house playing under the grapevines and enjoyed being part of a second family.
Mimi and Beatrice were friends and neighbors for many decades in the old neighborhood.  When Mimi moved from Monroe St., they remained close neighbors in Senior Housing in Norwich.  We will both miss her company and friendship.

As a kid I spent many a day at the pearson's . The holidays were always enjoyable with Jim dressing up for the holiday and mimi always maing fabulous treats. All will be missed.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Aunt Mimi.  I have so many fond memories of visiting their house as a child-the well pump, the cows next door, the grapevines etc.   She was always smiling and happy to be around everyone.  I will miss her greatly.   Take care-
