Mark was born August 19, 1953 in Lancaster, PA, the son of the late Sidney and Phyllis (Barber) Plotkin.
He married Meryl (Davidson) on July 19, 1975 in Hartford, CT. She survives him.
Mark worked as a Personal Lines Account Manager with the Byrnes Agency, retiring in March of 2021
after 20 years.
Mark was an avid sports fan who loved watching and attending NY Yankees, NY Giants and Boston Bruins games. He enjoyed taking long walks, kayaking and snowshoeing. He loved listening to music and
visiting vineyards. Above all else, he enjoyed spending time with family and most recently his grandsons.
In addition to his wife Meryl, Mark is survived by his sons David and wife Meg, Jason and girlfriend
Heather Weitzner, sisters Marge Stehman and husband Peter, Amy Filburn and husband Ron, by his
grandsons Spencer and Keegan Plotkin, aunt and uncle Marsha and Bob Gillette, nephew Jonathan
McCoy, niece Sarah McCoy and by many special cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at the Church and Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem
St. in Norwich at 2pm. Family will greet relatives and friends from 1:30pm until the time of the service.
Burial will follow in the Norwich Hebrew Benevolent Cemetery #3, Middle Rd. in Preston. Due to Covid
19, the family requests that everyone in attendance please wear a mask.
The family will be receiving family and friends immediately following the funeral service at the home of
Abby Dolliver, 6 Deepwood Drive, Norwich with Minyan Service to follow, and at the home of David and
Meg Plotkin, 1 Ridge Dr. South, Old Saybrook, CT on Wednesday, June 1st, from 3-5pm.
