Lisbon-Margaret E. Platt, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2015. She was born on July 25, 1921 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of Thomas J. Craig and Johanna (Daly) Craig. She was united in marriage to Malcolm Rennie Platt on November 23, 1946 in Newark, New Jersey.
Mrs. Platt graduated from Dunmore High School in Pennsylvania. She graduated from Scranton State General Hospital in Pennsylvania as a registered nurse. She enlisted in the United States Army during World War II as Lieutenant in the nurse corps where she served at the 49th and the 248th general hospitals in the Philippine Islands where she met her husband of 67 years, Malcolm.
She is survived by her four loving children: Kathleen Platt Ryan (Raymond), Mary Valerie Platt Thompson (David), Malcolm Robert Platt (Jeanne) and Candace Platt Phinney (Donald); eight grandchildren: Candace A. Janish, Lisa M. Beck (Robert), John W. Powell III (Annie), Melissa K. Carman (Matthew), Amanda C. Ryan, Heather Platt, Kimberly Platt and Amber Platt. She was predeceased in death by her husband, two sisters, Mary C. Beachell and Dorothy Price; and three brothers, Francis Craig, Joseph Craig, and John Leo Craig; one step-brother, Albert Griffin. She also leaves eleven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
