Karim GITTENS, age 60, of Uncasville, Connecticut passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2022. Karim was born July 30, 1962 in Brooklyn, NY, as one of six children to Richard and Florence Gittens who predeceased him.
Surviving him are his wife Patricia Roberge, children Michael, Ariana, Richard & Brenton, as well as Cheryl Cramer, Brenton and Ariana’s mother, his two grandchildren Remi and Roman. His siblings, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Devoted and much loved friends Dru Coleman and Monica Lund blessed Karim with their company in his last days along with the family.
Karim was an IT Manager for Plas Pak Industries for almost 30 years, leaving only when he was diagnosed with Younger Onset Alzheimer’s and was unable to continue the work he loved.
Karim was active in his community and loved to help and care for others. He served as President of the Montville Youth Football League, coached basketball for the AAU, Youth league and Little League. Further serving his community, Karim was very proud of his appointment as the first Black Exalted Ruler of the New London Elks 360.
We would like to thank Leydi and Yudelka who provided care in the home. Karim loved his visits with the ladies listening to Motown and watching westerns.
