John J. O'Neill

On October 1st 2023, John O’Neill, 75, of Norwich, CT passed away surrounded by his Son and favorite Pets to join his waiting family in the beyond. He developed a short illness this year and is finally at peace.

John was born on Halloween in 1947 in New London, CT to his father Timothy & Mother Frances (Kennedy) O’Neill. He went to graduate from St. Bernard High School & earn two bachelors from Providence College and the University of Connecticut. He then went on to a lengthy career at Pfizer, mostly working for their Food Science Division before it was sold off. After it was sold, he found his way to work for Veritec in Essex.

John Married the love of his life, Donna Lambert O’Neill (Deceased 2015), and had 3 children. Katie and Sean who were deceased as young babies and had one surviving Son Devin. He spent a good amount his time with wife Donna navigating their lives with the love they shared for each other. Also, he loved to use his Irish humor entertain his family, friends, & co-workers. He would practice his Irish accent and try to make people smile. He absolutely loved to read and spent a good amount of his free time with an enjoyable book in his hand or finding others to read. He also had a passion for science and loved to learn about the various facts of the universe.

John is predeceased by his Wife Donna, Son Sean, & Daughter Katie. Also, His brother Jim, & Father and Mother.

His surviving relatives are His Son Devin O’Neill of Norwich, CT, sister Mary Pond of Framingham, MA, & sister Jean English of Old Lyme, CT. He also had 2 Nieces, Claire English Giametti & Ashley Chambers Rodgers. He also had 6 Nephews, Patrick English, Michael English, Adam Lambert, Drew Chambers, Erik Nelson, and Connor Nelson.

A memorial Mass will be held Friday Nov. 17, 2023 at 11am in Sts. Peter and Paul Church Norwich.
