John Albert Bartlett Jr., also known as Happy Jack, age 81, of Norwich Ct, passed away at his home on November 9, 2022. He was born on August 10, 1941 in Meriden, Ct to the late John Albert Bartlett Sr. and Winona (Stearns) Bartlett. He married the love of his life, Virginia (Geremia) Bartlett on October 21, 1961.
John was a loving father and family man. He enjoyed family gatherings and traveling. He was a devout Catholic and parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Norwichtown. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a big sports fan who loved his UConn Huskies, Boston Red Sox and New York Giants.
John is survived by his beloved wife Virginia, his daughter Judean Bradstreet and her husband Steven of Colchester, his daughter Michelle Schneiter and her husband Chris of Baltic, and his daughter Kristine Andux and her husband Anthony of Valley Steam, NY. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren Dayna, Therese, Jesse, Joey, Kaitlin, Anthony and Lanna, a great grandchild Logan and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a sister Joan Pagano.
Family and friends may visit Church and Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St., Norwich on Monday from 9:00 AM to 9:40 AM followed by a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church, 57 W. Town Street, Norwich. Burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s honor to the Knight of Columbus, Chapter 13, 47 2nd Ave. Taftville, CT 06380.
