Jerry is predeceased by his parents, Eve Bly (Elliott) Beauchamp and William Beauchamp and his son Robert William
Beauchamp.
He is survived by the love of his life, Gloria (Malley) of 50 years. They were married in Montville, Connecticut on August
27, 1966.
He is lovingly remembered by his sister, Yvonne, his nephew Nicholas , the Malley family, the Mays family, and countless
friends in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Tennessee.
Jerry was born in Baltimore, Maryland on October 17, 1944. He graduated from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute in 1962
and immediately enlisted in the Navy. He served eight years in the Navy. Jerry graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1977
from UCONN with a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Material Science. In 1992, he graduated from
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a Masters in Business Administration Management. He retired in 2010 and moved
from Massachusetts to Tennessee.
Jerry’s hobbies gravitated around an interest in history, sailing and historic vessel model building.
After moving to Tennessee he became a member of the Cherokee Lake Sailing Cub and became actively involved as a
board member and officer. He revived the club’s newsletter the Light & Variable.
He also joined the Smoky Mountain Maritime Modelers Club and revived their newsletter the Windlass.
Jerry later joined the Jefferson Country Historical Society.
A calling hour will be held from 10 am to 11 am on Friday, November 18, 2016 at the Church & Allen
Funeral Home, 136 Sachem Street, Norwich, Conn. A procession will follow to St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Boswell Ave. in
Norwich at which time a Navy Veteran’s Memorial Service will be held. Jerry will be buried next to his son, Robert
William Beauchamp.
A memorial get together will be planned in Tennessee in the near future.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The University of Tennessee Medical Center, Hospice Services.
