Irene R. Kazlauskas

Kazlauskas- Irene R. Kazlauskas, 88 of Uncasville died Tuesday at Backus Hospital, with her family by her side. She was born Jan. 14, 1925 daughter of the late Napoleon and Elizabeth (Tolson) Turcotte, residing in the Greenville section of Norwich, and attended Greenville Elementary School and graduating from NFA. Irene was employed for a number of years at the Thermos Bottling Company and retired as a computer programming supervisor for Pfizer in New London. Irene loved to travel the country with her loving husband, George, through many car and bus trips. She had a great sense of humor and was very dedicated to her family and friends. Irene held a special place in her heart for her Uncle Fred. She will be dearly missed. Besides her husband of 67 years, George, she leaves behind a son and daughter in law Ray and Nadine Kazlauskas of Gaston OR; a daughter and son in law, Greg and Jean Leighton of Midlothian, VA; a sister , Theresa Kazlauskas of Uncasville, and was predeceased by a sister Ruth Bennett also of Uncasville. Irene leaves 6 grandchildren, Darrin and Don Kazlauskas, Debbra Stone, Nick and Dan Leighton, and Amanda Knauff, as well as many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Thursday June 13, 2013 from 4-7 p.m. at the Montville Funeral Home of Church and Allen, 53 Norwich New London Tpke. Uncasville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday June 14, 2013 10:00 a.m. in St. John’s Church in Uncasville. Burial will be private.
