Henry F Patten Jr

He was born on March 28, 1931 in Boston, MA to the late Henry and Alice (Burke) Patten Sr. After completing school he began working for General Dynamics, Electric Boat Division as a draftsman-designer until his retirement. On June 18, 1960 he married his beloved wife Patricia (Broderick). She predeceased him in 1991.

Henry was an avid fan of all Boston teams holding his Red Sox and Bruins exceptionally dear. He was a fixture at Dodd Stadium in Norwich each season and enjoyed the local baseball teams there. His soft spot though was for the time he was able to spend with his grandchildren.

Henry is survived by a son; Stephen and his wife Susan Patten of Cromwell, a son Robert and his wife Jill Patten of Waterford, his daughter; Kathleen and her husband Paul Thaller of S. Windsor, a brother; Joseph and his wife Marcia Patten of Westborough, MA, grandchildren; Jennifer, Emily, Erin, Nathan and Matthew and his nephew Adam.

Visitation will be held Sunday from 4pm-8pm at the Montville Funeral Home of Church & Allen, 53 Norwich-New London Tnpk., Uncasville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10am at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1650 RT 12, Gales Ferry, CT [meeting directly at church] with burial immediately following at Avery Stoddard Cemetery, Ledyard, CT.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
