George H Jennings

He was born in Norwich, CT on April 5, 1941 to the late George A. and Henrietta (Main) Jennings.

He graduated from Norwich Technical High School and received an Associate’s Degree in photography from Rochester Institute of Technology. He was employed as a photographer for The Norwich Bulletin before starting his own photography business from his home in Preston. He served on the Preston Zoning Board of Appeals for several years. He was a private pilot, sang and played guitar, enjoyed fishing and loved life. Most recently he focused on raising goats and organic gardening of which he was most proud.

George is survived by his son George Jennings and his wife Olga, daughter Shannon Jennings and her husband Alan Belanger, his wife Alla Markelova and stepson Aleksey Markelov, sister Lila Michon, grandchildren Mark Jennings, Mirlan Belanger, and Roza Jennings, a niece Laura Hanrahan, aunt Faith Jennings and his former wife Careen Jennings. He was predeceased by a brother James Jennings, nephew Francis Michon, aunt Ann Tynan and uncles Charles and Richmond Jennings.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, Oct 25th from 5pm – 7pm at the Labenski Funeral Home, 107 Boswell Ave., Norwich, CT. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, Oct 26th at 11 am with interment immediately following at the Hamilton Ave Cemetery, Norwich, CT.
