Gayle Rawley Boada passed into the hands of Our Lord October 5, in quiet comfort surrounded by her family, due to complications from Alzheimer's. She is survived by Eric Boada, her husband of 52 years, sister Ann Greene, son Benjamin and wife Bethany, daughter Suzanne and fiancé Sean Kelley, son Jonathan and wife Jessica, daughter Emeline Winters and husband Michael, grandchildren Morgan, Isaac, and Annabelle. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Gayle was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on January 17th 1953 to parents Benjamin and Peggy McManus (predeceased.) Field work in the FBI had the family moving around in her early days until they settled in NJ. She was a 1971 graduate of Woodbridge High School and Barbizon School of Modeling, and later attended Tunxis Community College in CT.
Gayle's gentle nature was balanced by a love of the bold. She adored art and theater and was an avid reader. Gayle was truly an artist herself in everything she did--especially finding great expression through baking and cooking. She rode a motorcycle throughout her twenties and loved any time she could spend at the beach.
Raising her family was the most treasured part of life for her. Gayle flourished professionally as a dedicated in-home caretaker for the elderly and disabled, where she was cherished by many families as a member of their own.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, Oct. 15th from 11am-2pm at Church and Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem Street in Norwich.
