Born in August 1929, he died on Sept. 19, 2021. He was the oldest child of Julius and Anna Bronerwein Cohen. He was a chemist for most of his life. After working in industry for 12 years. He open a company, EMCO Testing and Engineering in Norwich in 1972. The company worked on well water problems, including acid well waters,and iron contamination He was a proponent of notifying home owners of the dangers from acid water which could leach copper and lead from the plumping system.
He was married three times, the last to a dear wife,Reba, who died in 2004. He graduated from Weaver High School in Hartford, the University of Connecticut, and Northwestern Universities.
He leaves behind a special niece named Jody Cohen, who lives in South Carolina. And many family related to his brother. , Franklin who died in 2014. he has one sister who lives in Tennessee. He was an athlete and played tennis and golf. along with his good friend Wayne Quay. He ran for the State legislature as a member of the Connecticut Party with Lowell Weicker and was active with citizen who rallied for good government. He was a member the crews who met at Comcast, channel 14, and had his own show "A Questioning Nature" which dealt with environmental issues and allowed Ernie to read his poems on that show. He was a member of "Brother of Joseph" synagogue in Norwich. He love to spend time walking in Mohegan Park and would also visit the Norwich senior Center. He had many friends, among them members of Companions and Home Makers, Dawn, George, Rachel, and Sarah. He also spent time with
Diane and Lois, his dear friends. Graveside Services will be held at Hebrew Benevolent Cemetery #4 Preston Ct. on Monday 9/20/2021 at 2 p.m.
