Edward "Bud" Farnan

He was born September 5, 1914 in Groton, the son of the late William Joseph and Alice I. (Clancy) Farnan.

He married the late Eleanor (Johnsen) August 31, 1940 in New London, CT. She passed away May 27, 2009.

He was a member of the Thames Valley Rockhounds and a member of the Original Quaker Hill Rod and Gun Club. He was an avid New York Yankees and UCONN Women’s Basketball fan.

Bud is survived by his daughters Nancy Grout and husband Robert of Oakdale, Carol Bossé and husband Michael of North Stonington, grandchildren Randy Grout and wife Holly, Tim Grout and wife Jacque, Scott Grout and wife Holly, David Bossé and wife Margie, Marc Bossé, great grandchildren Brandon, Taylor, Kaylie and Kate Grout, Jessica Adams and husband Cory, Krystal, Savannah, Michelle, Emily, Marisa, Nicholas, Eyob and Daniel Bossé, and by his great great grandchildren Sophie, Alexa and Ellie Adams and by his sister in law Irene Farnan.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brother George Richard Farnan and sister Marie Cooper and her husband Leonard William.

Calling hours will be held at the Montville Funeral Home of Church and Allen on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm.

A funeral service will be held at the Montville Funeral Home of Church and Allen on Friday at 11 am. Burial will follow in Raymond Hill Cemetery.
