Dorothy C. McCulley

Dorothy C. McCulley, 91, of Avon, CT, formally Norwich, CT, entered the gates of heaven on May 27, 2023 at UConn John Dempsey hospital. She was born on October 31, 1931 to the late Constance and Angelina (Gustamachio) Cellucci.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Raymond and husband, Eric Raymond, a son, Dennis McCulley, grand children, Justine Allen, Vincent Pastore, Melissa McCulley, and Daniel McCulley. She Leaves behind a brother, Joseph Cellucci, and a sister in law Kathy Cellucci. She is predeceased by her husband Robert McCulley, a sister, Annette Gosky and a brother, Richard Cellucci.

Dorothy (Dottie) was a well respected employee of the Norwich Public Utilities for over 30 years. Her job came with enormous responsibilities. She was the go to person for everyone who had concerns or questions.

Dorothy was also a beloved family member, hosting many holiday gatherings. It was always a fun time at “Dottie’s” house!

One of Dottie’s greatest loves was following UConn women’s basketball. She watched every game either on TV or in person with her close friends.

After retirement, Dottie spent her life devoted to her children and her grandchildren. You couldn’t ask for a better grandmother.

Dottie was a strong, independent woman who helped many people in her life. She was always there if you needed her. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be missed by many.
