Doreen Lamonda

Doreen is survived by her brothers, sisters, and children Paul Lamonda of Norwich, CT, Joseph Lamonda of Norwich, CT, Josie Gervais of Norwich, CT, Tina Miller of Summerville, SC and her beloved dog Honey. Doreen is also survived by her 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Doreen was predeceased by her mother Beverly Currier and her loving daughter Beverly Lamonda.

In the late 80’s Doreen earned her nickname Big Momma. Doreen loved to play her bingo and cards and she loved the Boston Red Sox. You could often find Doreen at the New London-Waterford Speed Bowl where she worked for many years. But the most important day to her was on Sundays with her granddaughter Tasha Lamonda. Tasha is and will always be the apple of her nana’s eye. Doreen and Tasha were inseparable and would often go for Sunday drives not caring where it took them, but as long as they were together. Doreen also had an extraordinary relationship with her daughter-in-law Barbara. Barbara could have been mistaken for Doreen’s daughter with how unconditionally Doreen loved her. Doreen will be missed by all who knew her.
