Bonnie Quinley Raue, 78, of Norwich, CT, passed away on March 13, 2025, after a brief illness. A kindhearted and joyful presence, Bonnie will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Born on December 1, 1946, Bonnie spent her life bringing warmth and happiness to those around her. She dedicated 25 years of service to Backus Hospital, where her caring nature made a lasting impact. A lover of music, she found great joy in singing—whether in the glee club at the Norwich Senior Center or as a member of the choir at Preston Congregational Church.
Bonnie had a remarkable ability to make people feel special. She never missed an opportunity to celebrate others, always remembering birthdays, anniversaries, and milestones with a thoughtful card. Her kindness, laughter, and unwavering positivity will be cherished forever.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Al Raue; her daughter, Donna Raue Larson, and son-in-law, Kris Larson, of Bristol, RI; her grandson, Patrick Larson, and his wife, Angel, of Warwick, RI; her granddaughter, Kerrie Larson, of Medway, MA; and her beloved great-granddaughter, Layla Larson. She is also remembered with love by her sister-in-law, Diane Raue Nelson, and her husband, Steve, of Farmington, CT.
Bonnie was predeceased by her brother, William Quinley, and her sister, Joanne Huffaker.
A memorial service will be held on March 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Preston City Congregational Church in Preston, CT. Friends and family are invited to gather at the church for refreshments and fellowship following the service. A private burial will take place afterward. In honor of Bonnie’s bright and joyful spirit, she would want everyone to wear something colorful and cheerful.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Heart Association, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
