William P. Gillespie (Willie), 56, of Northridge, California – one the world’s special people – passed away on November 20, 2024 after a fearless 18-month battle with cancer. His infectious laugh can still be heard from the Bronx, New York to the beaches of California and everywhere in between.
Willie is survived by the love of his life, Rosemarie Cordero, his three sons Liam, Jack, Aidan, his brothers Tommy and Eddie, his labrador Guiness, and countless family members and friends who adored him greatly.
Willie loved road trips, YouTube channels, the Yankees, coaching his boys, the ocean and the occasional slot machine – but most of all, he loved people. Willie took a heartfelt interest in everyone he encountered. He would always listen, help and uncover rays of sunshine with passion and compassion.
Willie began work in finance and accounting, and spent most of his career at NBC Universal, bringing his insights and managerial skills as Controller, Vice President of TV Distribution and most recently Vice President of Master Data and Fulfillment Operations. While he shined at work, he was even more proud of his job as dad, and spent years supporting Santa Clarita Warrior Football.
Willie now joins his mom (Fran) and dad (Ray) in heaven.
Willie’s life will be celebrated in California and New York at dates to be announced.
