on October 4, 2018. He was born in Van Nuys, California on October 3, 1941.
Upon graduation from high school, he entered the U.S. Army, whereupon he
was stationed in what was then West Germany. He traveled throughout the
country serving as a driver for Generals and other officers and was also a
mechanic for various military vehicles, serving from 1966 to 1969, after his
service, he was honorably discharged.
Raymond continued his mechanical work after the army and started a successful
non-metal machine shop business which he continued for over 50 years. He was
especially adept at intricate work such as circuit boards, which he provided for
clients such as Litton, Industries. An avid inventor, he held two patents relating
to printer ink cartridges.
In his spare time, he loved to write science fiction stories and has more than
twenty to his name. Later in life, he was baptized Lutheran and became a member
of Shepard of the Hills Church.
Raymond is survived by his two nephews, Jeffrey Abato–Earwood and Gregory
Earwood, along with his niece, Kimberly Kuntz.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 9th from 4:00 pm to 8 pm at
Bastian & Perrott, Oswald Mortuary, 18728 Parthenia Street, Northridge, California.
Services will be held on Thursday, October 11th at 11:00 am Foothill Christian Center,
10386 Old Dobbins Rd., Dobbins, CA.
Burial will be immediately following at Keystone Cemetery, 15868 Indiana Ranch Rd.,
Dobbins, CA.
Raymond sponsored seven children through the Child Fund charity.
