Marjorie Marsh Watson, 85, passed away suddenly Friday evening, September 3, 2010.
Marjorie was born on December 19, 1924 in Sheridan, Montana to Glen and Mabelle Marsh. She attended high school in Sheridan, studied at Montana State University, and then moved to Pasadena, California with her twin sister to study nursing. She received her training at the Huntington Memorial Hospital through the Cadet Nursing Program. After graduation, she worked as an OB nurse for Drs Baldwin and Rogers in Pasadena, CA. She also later worked for 13 years for the Granada Medical Group in Granada Hills, CA.
In 1950, she met her husband Orrin, and they were married at the Chapel of the Roses in Pasadena on March 3, 1951. After a brief move to Little Falls, New Jersey, they made their home in Van Nuys and then Northridge. Marjorie and Orrin shared 59 wonderful years of marriage.
She faithfully attended Valley Presbyterian Church for 46 years, teaching Sunday school and volunteering in the church office. She was a devoted wife and mother, lovingly caring for her family, home, and rose garden. Her greatest joy was being with those she loved, and she described the recent family gathering in Montana as “just perfect.”
She leaves behind her loving husband Orrin; son Larry and daughter-in-law Meg; daughters Karen and Anne (Swager) and son-in-law Tim Swager; granddaughters Laura and Katherine Swager; and grandsons Max and Hunter Watson.
