He was the son of Greek immigrant parents born in Chicago Illinois; He was first generation American. And very proud of that and even served in the air force before he married his wife of 61 years. He was a musician, and his career began at the age of 16 when he toured with the harmonica rascals, and the harmonicats . He was a stand-up comedian and his career, began with Gus Christy and they were known as the Mad Greeks of comedy, Lewis and Christy, they eventually parted ways, and he continued his career as a standup comic playing the Pocono circuit, the cat skills the Playboy clubs Las Vegas, and more. He was an actor, best known for his roles in princess diaries one and two, where he played the baron von Steuben and Prehysteria one and two where he played the gardener, the Greek Chief in Frankie and Johnie the Greek Chef in Evening at the improve his roles as a character actor are too many to list. He was a commercial actor, best known for his role in the circuit city commercials. I could’ve got a better TV for less. He was a playwright writing the play locker room and his one man show All Greeks Are not in the restaurant business and more.
He will be forever remembered in the laughter he shared with so many. Greg is pre-deceased by his sons Montgomery Alexi Lewis and Gregory Victor Lewis. He is survived by his beloved wife Roberta Lewis (daughter) Anastasia Lewis Sweetman (granddaughter) Ayla Dixon, (grandson) Victor Lewis, (sister) Angeline Tangalos (son-in-law) Jon Sweetman, and (grandson, in law) Nathaniel Dixon.
A graveside service for Gregory will be held Friday, October 6th at 11:00 AM at Oakwood Memorial Park, 22601 Lassen St. in Chatsworth.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
