TUSCALOOSA | Virginia Glover Essary Durden, age 48, of Tuscaloosa, died July 22, 2015, at home. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, July 30, 2015, at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Bonner officiating and Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Durden; nephew, Dustin Utley; grandparents, J.C. and Annie Lou Glover, Carlos and Bertha Hamner, and W.H. and Bonnie Hollingsworth.
Survivors include her daughter, Victoria Lunceford (JJ); Victoria's father, Charlie Essary,; step-daughter, Candace Fikes (Kyle); sisters, Terri Utley (James Hall) and Tunya Voegele (Chris); parents, David Glover (Kathy) and Janice Boler (Adrian Alexander); grandchildren, Hayden, Brylan, and Willow Lunceford and Cooper and Sadie Fikes; nieces and nephews, Monice Utley, Tyler, Zack, and Camryn Hayes, and Hunter Voegele.
Virginia was born and raised in Tuscaloosa, Ala. She loved spending time with family, music, singing, and playing ""Hay Day"" with Aunt Wanda, Aunt Terri, and her mom, Janice. She enjoyed being on the water and boating. She was a remarkable mother and grandmother who leaves behind a family that will cherish every moment spent with her. Her memory will live on in the loved ones that she left behind. She was my mother, my friend, and now my angel.
Honorary pallbearers are Southside Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Southside Baptist Church in Fayette, AL 35555.
