Susan Helm

Susan was born October 29, 1948, and raised in Mobile, Alabama. Susan dedicated her life to shaping young minds as an elementary school teacher. She had a deep passion for education and made a lasting impact on both her students and coworkers. Her kindness, patience, and unwavering support left an impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Beyond the classroom, Susan was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She cherished time spent with her family. Her warmth, wisdom, and infectious laughter will be deeply missed.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Russell and Agnes Sarhan Russell.

She is survived by her son, Heath Helm (Amy); her daughter, Jenni Helm Jones (Jeff); her beloved grandchildren, Madison Helm Pinyan, Mason Helm, Bradley Jones, and Jackson Jones; and her brother, Bob Russell.

Per her wishes, there will be no formal service. The family asks that those who loved Susan honor her memory by carrying forward her kindness, generosity, and love of learning.

Susan’s legacy lives on in the many lives she touched, and she will forever be remembered with love.
