Steven Barnes, better known as "Steve", age 63, of Tuscaloosa passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025, in the comfort of his own home. Steve was born in Winfield, Alabama on May 16, 1961, to Sam and Shelby Barnes. Steve was employed in the coal industry for 45 years as a highly respected electrician. He enjoyed coon hunting, Alabama football, spending time with his daughters, and most importantly his two grandchildren.
Steve is survived by his children, Alexis Barnes, Brooke Abston and her husband Bryant; grandchildren, Oakland Barnes and Remington Abston; sisters, Tabatha McMillan (Wade) and Jeanie Barnes; brothers, Tim Barnes and Curt Barnes (Kristie); mother, Shelby Barnes and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and close friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Samuel Barnes and grand-dog, Little Bear Bear.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Sunset Funeral Home, in Northport, Alabama with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M..
