Ricky was born on January 23, 1956 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
He is survived by his daughter, Kristin Hawthorne (Jamie), his grandkids, Vivian and Ashton Hawthorne, his brothers, Johnny Turner and Robert Turner (Derendell), his sister Sharon Camp and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Elizabeth Turner.
Ricky was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and just being outside. He loved cooking and grilling, especially for The Elks.
For over 30 year’s he worked for Tuscaloosa City Water Works, and was the Lake Inspector over Lake Tuscaloosa! In his retirement, he owned his own pressure washing and lawn care business always wanting to stay busy and be outdoors!
Pallbearers will be Adam Camp, Don Woods, Daniel Faulkner, Trent Murray, John Powell Webb, and Blake Cox.
Honorary Pallbearers: Doug Clark, Luanne Gunther, Teresa Dockery, Jamie Webb, Callie Miller, Bruce & Debbie Taylor, Mary Neely, Kim Clary, Bruce & Annette Parr, Billy Snider, Mike Spruill, Doug Killian, April Mills, Dorroh & Mills, The Elks Lodge, & Southern Care Hospice.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 27, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home, and Burial will be at Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery on Watermelon Rd. following the service.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to The Cancer Center of Tuscaloosa or the organization of your choice.
