Patsy Noland James was welcomed into Heaven on Oct. 14, 2010. Services will be 2 p.m. today, Oct. 16, 2010, at Sunset Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Following the burial, there will be a time of fellowship and fond memories in the fellowship hall of First Free Will Baptist Church of Northport, located at 2401 Lurleen Wallace Blvd in Northport. Bring a dish and an appetite. The family requests that all come to the funeral in casual dress.
She is survived by her husband, Ervin “Gene” James; her sons, Jeremy (Emily) and Chad; her grandchildren, Jasmine, Jameel, and Jeremiah; a brother, Ricky; numerous other family members; and many friends.
She was a 1969 graduate of Tuscaloosa County High School. She worked many years for Rental Uniform Supply/Cintas.
She was a true hero—having been diagnosed with cancer nearly 21 months ago, she never gave up nor backed down her life. She worked up until the very end doing what she loved to do—caring for others. Her final position was with Northport Health and Rehab, and she derived much joy from being with and caring for the residents there.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Sri Lankan Orphanages at Welcome Home International, 103 Hamlet Drive, Franklin, TN 37064, the American Cancer Society , the Humane Society, or to the charity of one's choice.
