Opal Prescott Harris

Opal Harris Prescott, age 86, of Northport, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Aug. 2, 2012, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Feltman officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Rev. Lewellyn Harris and Wheeler Prescott.

Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Davis (Joe); her stepchildren, Benny Prescott (Joyce), Randy Prescott, and Linda Miller (Richard) of Vicksburg, Miss.; her sisters, Magdaline Henderson of Kennedy and Mary Gilliam of Millport; her brother, Jimmy Wayne Faulkner (Evalett) of Belk; her grandchildren, Jeff Jacobs, Tim Jacobs, and Dana Mitchum (Danny); and her great-grandchildren, Steven and Haley Jacobs and Drew, Gage, and Bryar Mitchum.

Pallbearers will be Drew Mitchum, Steven Jacobs, Jimmy Rogers, Terry Oswalt, Lane Gilliam, and Jerry Gilliam.

Honorary pallbearers are employees of Hospice of West Alabama.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama.
