Alice L. Smith, age 77, of Northport, died Aug. 21, 2012, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. today at Bethany Baptist Church with Bro. Ed Steelman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Martha Logan; her son, Randy Smith; and her daughter, Vickie Smith.
Survivors include her husband, Wesley C. Smith; her daughters, Catherine Plowman (Steve) and Jayne McMichael; and her grandchildren, Rene’ Plowman, Tanya Rowland, Angela Galloway, and Tyler Smith.
Alice was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a loving spirit to all who were privileged to meet her. She was the best “Maw-maw” and “Greatgranny”.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Rowland, Gary Logan, Leon Pearson, Joe Snow, Jeremy and Adam Newell, Danny Carroll, and Daniel Galloway.
Honorary pallbearers are Steve Plowman, staff of DCH MICU including Charleene, Tiffany Ponds of Amedisys, and Glen Haven Nursing Home.
