NORTHPORT | Nancy Ella Fay Tucker (McCaleb), age 77, of Northport, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2014, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Roggli officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be 6 until 8 p.m. tonight at Sunset Funeral Home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wiley and Dora McCaleb; her sister, Oceal Fowler; and her brothers, Huey Lee, Olus, and Thomas McCaleb.
She is survived by her husband, Billy Tucker; her brother, W.C. McCaleb (Faye), of Mobile; her daughters, Paula Hayward (Bill Roberson), of Northport, and Janis Junkin (Gary), of Northport; her grandchildren, Brian Fleenor (Marcia), of Samantha, Chasity Horton (Devon), of Alabaster, Courtney Blake (Brian), of Hoover, and Matthew Hayward (Jessie Navarro), of Tuscaloosa; her great-grandchildren, Montana and Cheyenne Fleenor, of Samantha, and Gavin and Greyson Horton, of Alabaster.
Ella Fay was born in Fayette, but later moved to Northport with Billy. Here they raised their tightknit family. She was a devoted, affectionate wife, loving mother, and adoring grandmother. Her love and affection were demonstrated day after day by her unwavering devotion to the happiness and prosperity of her children and grandchildren. Ella Fay's family was her life and a source from which she derived immense satisfaction and pride. It is only fitting that her most cherished times were those spent taking care of her grandchildren and gathering with her family.
Pallbearers will be Brian Fleenor, Matt Hayward, Gary Junkin, Devon Horton, Brian Blake, and Matt Kosloff.
Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Brian Wilhite, Dr. George Miller, Dr. John Miller, the caring and supportive staff of Hospice of West Alabama, DCH 6 North nursing staff, previous caregivers who took wonderful care of Ella Fay throughout the years, and her friends and neighbors of Brookmeade subdivision.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama.
