Margaret Ann Skinner, 75 of Northport, AL joined family and friends in the presence of her Lord and Savior on September 12, 2023. She was born on October 8,1947 in Fayette, Alabama to Miles and Virgie (Peggy) Bobo. She was married to William Ralph Skinner on December 1, 1967.
Ann is survived by her children, Donna (Jon) and Darleen Brewer (Mickey). She also leaves behind her cherished grandchild Jon Cameron Battle and great-grandchild Madilyn Jo Battle along with her sisters and brothers Gwen Kendrick (David), Sue Hallman (Gary), Charles Bobo (Glenda), Darrell Bobo (Brenda) and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Miles and Virgie (Peggy) Bobo and her husband of 20 years, Ralph Skinner.
After graduating from nursing school, Ann began to work at Druid City Hospital. When having children, Ralph and Ann decided it was best that she stay home and take care of their two girls. After the passing of Ralph, Ann went to work at Tuscaloosa Pediatrics. Ann enjoyed working there “taking care of her babies”. Ann was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church where she loved and served teaching preschool in Sunday school and vacation Bible school before traveling back and forth to care for her elderly husband’s parents and her mother. Her favorite pastimes were crafting, gardening, ceramics, and tending to her flower beds. But spending time on vacation with her family was her most favorite. Ann always made sure family came first. She went to great lengths to make sure everyone knew they were loved, taken care of and that everything was going to be alright.
She knew everything was going to be alright because she read in God’s word that He would protect and provide ALL of her needs.
Two of her favorite Bible
verses were:
Psalm 4:88b For YOU alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.
Philippians 4:19 My God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
