A private family graveside service will be held February 26, 2022, at 2:00pm at Cornelius Baptist Church with Bro. Albert Lyles officiating.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ottis Hitt; her parents Robert and Maddie Skelton; brothers W.B Skelton, James Skelton, Tom Skelton, and Donald Skelton.
She is survived by her children Terry Hitt, Debra Hitt, Kathy Hitt, and Shirley Adcox (David); grandchildren Scottie Adcox (Cherry), Kevin Adcox (Charlotte), Tyler Hitt (Morgan), and Amanda Buford (Archie); great-grandchildren Kaylie (Jacob), Emily Adcox, Alyssa Adcox, Wyndel Hitt, Brayden and Brynleigh Buford.
Lois was born March 25, 1932. She married Ottis Hitt on April 26,1957. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother known as Granny or Nana. She loved spending time with her family, doing ceramics, painting, cooking, gardening, and watching Alabama football.
Pallbearers will be Scottie Adcox, Kevin Adcox, Tyler Hitt, Archie Buford, Jacob Acton, and Mike Skelton.
Honorary pallbearers are the staff of Hunter Creek Health and Rehab, Dr. Vaughn, Mollie McGowan and the staff of Comfort Care Hospice, Buhl Baptist Church, and Bro. Tim Patrick.
