Suzy was born in Enterprise, AL on March 8, 1950. Her childhood home was in Samson, AL. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Ruth and James Houston Aplin (Samson, AL), two sisters Ethelyne Crews (Samson, AL), Mary Jo Beadenkopf (Canton GA), and brother Ellis Ray Aplin (Samson, AL).
Surviving her are her loving family; husband Joseph A. Robinson of Tuscaloosa AL, daughter Jennifer Robinson Dailey (Guy Derrick) of Tuscaloosa AL, and granddaughter Katelyn Marie Dailey.
Susy and Joe met at Enterprise State Junior College in 1969. After graduating from Enterprise State, Susy went to the University of Alabama to pursue her career in Library Science and graduated in 1972. Susy married Joe in Enterprise, AL on September 2, 1972. After marriage, the young couple moved to Tuscaloosa where Susy obtained a master’s degree in library science and began her long successful career as a librarian at Druid City High School (now Central High School.) During her career and after retirement Susy and her family traveled around the United States by car. She enjoyed watching the changing landscapes as they passed in front of her. This year, Susy and Joe celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary. Susy loved animals and reading, especially loved reading with her granddaughter Katelyn. The world lost a great wife, mother and friend and she will be deeply missed.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 22, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home, followed by a Celebration of Life Memorial service at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Hospice of West Albama (3851 Loop Road).
