Katherine Mills Vaughn

Katherine Elizabeth Mills Vaughn, age 92, of Buhl, died August 22, 2013, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. today at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Don Springer and Rev. Victor Bonner officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. William Edward Vaughn; and siblings, Mary, John Lester, Lewis, Sarah, and Nell.

Survivors include daughter, Jean Vaughn Skelton (John Aaron); son, William Edward “Bill” Vaughn; brothers, Paul Mills Jr. (Bessie Mae) and William “Bill” Mills; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Mother went to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, August 22, 2013. She was a very gentle Christian lady. Mother loved the Lord and was happiest when working in the church and being a minister's wife and helpmate. She and Dad had 67 years together. Mother was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She never met a stranger and was always a friend to any and everyone. She loved children, always teaching about Jesus and His love. Vacation Bible School was one of her favorite things, to work with the children.

Pallbearers will be Rev. Ralph Smith, Charlie Beck, Jim Hughes, James Woolbright, Auzie Martin, John Parker, Ronald Tilley, and Jim Mills.

Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Craig Buettner and staff, nurses and doctors in TSICU, friends and neighbors of the Buhl, Elrod and Bethany communities.
