NORTHPORT | Rev. John Curtis Franklin, age 82, of Northport, died June 11, 2015, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 2:30 p.m. today, Saturday June 13, 2015, at Northport Church of God with Rev. Jentezen Franklin, Rev. Raymond Culpepper, and Rev. Tony Pope officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be two hours prior to services at the church.He was preceded in death by his mother, father, two brothers, and brother-in-law.Survivors include his wife, Alice Hazel Franklin of Northport, Ala.; daughters, Marcia Stewart (Jerry) of Madison, Ala., Janet Mills (David) of Panama City, Fla., Brenda Jones (Gary) of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Patti Bates (Chris) of Hayden, Ala.; sisters, Margaret Berry and Ruth Cato; ten grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.Rev. Franklin was a minister in the Church of God, as a pastor, and an evangelist for over 50 years. In his ministry, he served in over 30 states and three mission trips overseas. He loved to sing, fish, ride his grandchildren on hi John Deere Tractor and spin tales. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Atchley, Chris Mills, Brent Jones, Davy Mills, Shawn Bliss, and Timothy Atchley.
