James Mills

James (Jimmy) Morris Mills, age 82 of Buhl, AL passed away October 23rd, 2021 at Hospice of West Alabama, Helen H. Hahn House. The family will receive friends from 5:30pm to 8:00pm, October 26th, at Sunset Funeral Home in Northport, AL. The Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, October 27th at Buhl Baptist Church in Buhl Alabama at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.

Jimmy was proceeded in death by his father, Lester Morris Mills, Mother, Margaret (Polly) Mills, loving wife Ladye Mills, and brother Jack Mills. Survivors include son; James Morris Mills Jr. (Tracey), daughter; Susanne Mills Snider (John), son; Charles (Bubba) Goins (Rhonda), son-in-law; Jeff Isbell (Tammie).

Grandchildren: Anthony (Tony) James Isbell, Ashley Goins Robertson (Taylor), James Cody Mills (Macy), Anna Elise Bramblett (Bradley), Kalli Isbell Averett (Logan), Alexandria Jorden Goins, Mary Morgan Mills, Dallas Weaver Delk (Jacob), Reece Stone Weaver.

Great Grandchildren: Brody James Isbell, John Wyatt Sexton, Rafe Walker Isbell, Millie Palmer Robertson, Madden Watkins, Harper Watkins.

Jimmy was Born February 22nd, 1939 in Buh, Alabama. He graduated from Tuscaloosa County High School and attended the University of Alabama where he received his Masters Degree in Education. He was a teacher and Coach for thirty years. Twenty eight of those spent at Gordo High School. He enjoyed working with heavy equipment and was an operator for many years. He also loved working with his cows on his farm. He was a loving husband and father to his children and a father figure to many. During his time at Gordo High School he impacted hundreds of lives and shaped and molded young people into what they are today. He was a very special man. The Lord worked through him as he always gave of himself and served others. He was a family man, and adored his wife Ladye and his Children and grandchildren. He was a joy to all who knew him.
