James Larry Hall

Larry was married to his devoted wife, Diane, for 50 years. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised two wonderful daughters, Kristie and Meggan. Larry was also a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, all of whom affectionately called him "Papaw." He adored his family and cherished every moment spent with them, often taking great joy in their laughter and milestones.

He was a dedicated employee, retiring after 25 years of service with the City of Northport. He was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to the community. Outside of work, Larry was an avid fan of Alabama football and Nascar, always eager to watch his favorite teams and drivers. A true lover of all things Ford, Larry took great pride in his Ford vehicles, especially his beloved Ford truck.

Above all, Larry will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His legacy will live on through his family, who will forever treasure his memory.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Maude and Pete Hall; daughter, Dana Elam; and sister, Linda Davidson.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Gloria Diane Hall; daughters, Kristie Hall Reagan (David) and Meggan Montgomery (Bryan); son, Joey Elam (Che); grandchildren, Andrew Clapp, Kasee Rogers, Baylee Rogers, Tanner Montgomery, Mason Montgomery, Cameron Montgomery, Jase Montgomery, Andrew Clapp and Sydney Elam; and great-grandchildren, Brayden, Maddie, Rowan, Erin, and Rae.

A private graveside service for Larry will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Sunset Memorial Park with Bro Tim Holder officiating.

Serving as pallbearers are Joey Elam, Andrew Clapp, David Reagan, Bryan Montgomery, Tanner Montgomery, and Cameron Montgomery.

A special thanks to Dr. John Warren and the staff at Hospice of West Alabama for their special care for Larry during his journey with Lewy Body Dementia. The family would also like to thank family, friends, and neighbors, who have been so helpful with Larry over the years.
