James Daniel “Danny” Guyton age 49, met his Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 4, 2021. Services will be 11am Thursday at Sunset Funeral Home with Steve King officiating; the family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service. A private burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
Danny was preceded in death by his mother, Dianne Peoples and grandparents. He leaves to treasure his memory his loving and devoted wife of 23 years, Charity Butler Guyton (aka Mrs. Sweetie), his daughter, Cana Faith and son, Nathan Daniel. His fathers Mickey Peoples and Ralph Guyton; brother Brian Peoples, sister, Traci Peoples Hall, in-laws, Danny and Mollie Butler, brother-in-law, Cyle Butler; several nieces and nephews and a host of dear friends and co-workers.
First and foremost, Danny’s love and faith in the Lord was evident in all areas of his life. He was a fierce protector of his family and those closest to him. You didn’t meet Danny without knowing that his priorities were his Lord and his family. Time with Mrs. Sweetie, Cana and Nathan were his favorite and if that included some southern gospel music, baseball, good eats and friends, all the better!
He was recognized as a Godly man to so many and lived his life as a testimony for the Lord Jesus Christ. There are very few people in this world who are truly genuine Danny was one of those. If you were his friend you could trust that he always had your back, and he was there if you needed a shoulder or a kind ear and always brought laughter and smiles with him. He was a faithful Christian and fulfilled the call to strive to always be Christ honoring. The world needs more people like Danny and he most certainly heard, “welcome home my good and faithful servant.
”
Danny graduated from Hamilton High School in 1990 and the University of North Alabama in 1998. He took pride in sharing his alma mater with his children on visits to North Alabama. He loyally served as an IT Analyst at Mercedes Benz US International for over 20 years. The early stories from his trips to Germany for training were always filled with history and humor.
Danny’s memory will forever be etched in the hearts and minds of his family, friends, and co-workers. While all those who love him are sad that the Lord chose to heal him on His side of heaven, there is also great rejoicing knowing Danny is singing with the saints and worshipping at the feet of our Lord and Savior.
Pallbearers are Brett Arnold, Clarence Barger, Brian Butler, Mike Candee, James Medlin, and Steve Whitaker.
Honorary pallbearers are the members of Mercedes Service Parts Department.
