Mrs. Mills was a member of Coker United Methodist Church for over 50 years, many of those years she served as the choir director and later she loved working in the church nursery. Mrs. Mills was a homemaker and babysat her grandchildren while they were growing up. She also kept many other children in her home and they all called her Nanner Dean. She could grow anything she planted and loved working in her flower garden and vegetable garden.
She was also a member of the Coker Garden Club. The family would like to recognize and offer a special thank you Home Health Services, Hospice of West Alabama, the staff and attendants at DCH Emergency Room and the 7th Floor nurse of DCH.
Preceding her in death, are her parents, Forney & Ophelia Pennington Corbell; husband, Raymond Mills; and son, Mark Mills.
Mrs. Mills is survived by her daughter, Judy Massey (Jimmy); grandchildren, Jamie Hite (Jarod) and Jeremy Massey (Sarah); great-grandchildren, Tori Hite, Lane Hite, Matthew Massey, Cooper Massey and Adaline Massey; and brother, Charles Corbell.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 17, 2018 from the Chapel of Sunset Funeral Home beginning at 2 p.m. with Bro. Woody Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Corinth Baptist Church cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Massey, Jarod Hite, Dodie Morris, Michael Corbell, Jeff Massey and Johnny Massey. Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, in charge of arrangements.
