Curtis R. Wilson, age 78, of Northport, Ala., passed away June 4, 2020 at his residence. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Sunday, June 7, 2020, at Sunset Funeral Home with Albert Lyles and Tony Boothe officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn F. Wilson and Audrey Camp Wilson; and sister, Bobbie Brooks.
Survivors include his beautiful loving wife, Betty B. Wilson; daughters, Darlene W. Barton and Denise W. Robertson; sisters, Zora Ballard and Virginia G. Simmons; brother, John N. Wilson; grandchildren Lauryn Barton, David Robertson (Lesley) and Landyn Barton; and his most cherished great-grandchildren, Kynslee Barton, Kayelee Barton and Blakelee Chandler.
Mr. Wilson was born December 30, 1941 in Tuscaloosa, Ala. He graduated from Tuscaloosa County High School in 1960. He worked as a dispatcher and a truck driver most of his life. He was an ordained deacon.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, David Robertson and Landyn Barton; and Zach O'Neal, Mike Ballard, Mason Ballard, Mike Jones and Tim Skelton.
Honorary pallbearers are friends and neighbors of the Flatwoods Community, Walmart drivers, Phifer Wire drivers, nurses of Hospice and Encompass and Wilson Hollingsworth.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of West Alabama.
Services for Mr. Wilson will be Live Streamed via Facebook Live.
