Caleb Brent Watkins

NORTHPORT – Caleb Brent Watkins, age 27, of Northport, Ala., died February 14, 2016, at home. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday, February 19, 2016, at Piney Woods Cemetery with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be Thursday, February 18, 2016, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his beloved Nannie, Claribel Fields.

Survivors include his daughter, Emma Faith Watkins; step daughter, Payton Church; parents, Troy and Clara Smith and Darien Watkins; sisters, Heather Whatley (Daniel), Mahaley Lancaster, Whitney Riley (Brandon) and Shelbi Mallahan; brothers, Justin Smith and Austin Mallahan; and grandparents, Lowell and Linda Fields, Wanda Winchester, Vonda Robertson, Dennis and Lori Robertson, Lynda Wright and David Watkins.

Brent was born on September 24, 1988 to Darien and Clara. He grew up in Windham Springs and Northport. He attended Buhl Elementary, Walker Elementary and Northside High School.

Brent was quick with a smile and enjoyed to make others smile and laugh. It was never too late or too far away whenever a friend needed him. He was always willing to help. He loved his family very much and grew up close to his siblings.

Brent loved his step daughter, Payton Church. In 2010, he was blessed with a daughter, Emma, whose big smile, loud giggles, strong willed and mischievous ways, just like her daddy, made him happy. She was the light of his life.

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends hunting and mud riding.

Brent was a daddy, son, brother, grandson, nephew and a friend to so many and will be missed greatly.

Pallbearers will be Michael Booth, Jeremy Swiney, Randy Gray, Justin Hamilton, Michael Ray, Waylon Tillman and Josh Beams.

Honorary pallbearers are Randy Holcomb and Crimson Insulators.
