Boyd Michael Blakeney

Michael is survived by his wife, Tanya Talley Blakeney, daughter Amy Sullivan Mims (Jamey); Grandson, Logan Bolton; special aunt, Betty Colvin Cameron; special cousins, Debbie Doughty (Bruce), Becky Elmore (Donnie), Rush Cameron (Jennifer), John Cameron (Shae), brother in law, Mike Talley (Tammy);

Sister in law, Charlotte Skelton (Jerry); special lifelong friend, Nelson Pepper (Julie) his beloved dogs Connor and Blue and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his parents, first wife, Kathy Dockery Blakeney; special uncle, Bubber Cameron and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Michael was an insurance adjuster and retired in January 2024. He loved bass and crappie fishing, his boats, flower gardening and in his earlier life he enjoyed deer hunting. Michael loved his church and his church family immensely. Tanya stated “I couldn’t have asked for a better husband or to be treated any better. I always knew I was loved”.

Celebration of Life funeral services will be held Monday, May 13, 2024 at Northport Church of God, 2412 Lurleen B Wallace Drive Northport, Al 35476, beginning at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM until service time. Burial will follow at Salem Church Cemetery in Berry, Al.

Brother Greg Strickland will officiate services. Serving as pallbearers will be Nelson Pepper, Joel Bobo, John Cameron, Rush Cameron, Logan Bolton and Pete Porter. Honorary pallbearers will be Bro Greg Strickland (Jenny), Members of The Northport Church of God, Neighbors of Westland Subdivision, Coker, Al, Joel and Janet Bobo, Staff of Enhabit Hospice, Special Nurse Tammy Conley, Special Caregiver, Lamesha Bouter, Dr. James Evans and Dr. J. Curtis Tucker of Lewis and Faye Manderson Cancer Center; Dr. Julia Boothe, Sue Dockery, Billy Dockery, Shannon Dockery (Ashley), Tiffany Bryant (Brian).
