TUSCALOOSA Bobby Frank Howard, age 73, of Tuscaloosa, died Aug. 20, 2013, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 3 p.m. today at Sunset Funeral Home with Byron Dekle officiating and Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Aaron Andrew Howard, Sr. and Eloise Garner Howard; and by his brother, Aaron Andrew Howard, Jr. (Junior).
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Becky Fowler Howard of Tuscaloosa; sons, Lance Andrew Howard, and Jared Ryan Howard, both of Tuscaloosa; sister, Mildred Pate of Birmingham; and brother, James Howard of Reform.
Bobby was born in reform, Alabama where he enjoyed playing football for Pickens County High School. He left reform to honorably serve his country in the United States Air Force for four years. He served in the Vietnam War and made many lifelong friends, and served as a member of the Jaycees. He had a great connection with our Lord in Heaven as he enjoyed reading his bible and praying to Him for hours every morning. He loved his wife, sons, brothers, and sister very much and did everything he could for them.
Pallbearers will be Earnest Ray Jordan, Ashley Woodard, Joe Dix, Jerry Mills, Jerry Pate, Shane Galbreth, and Justin Wright.
Honorary pallbearer is James Howard.
