Bobbie Faye Rowland Rushing, age 86, of Northport, Ala., passed away July 17, 2018 at DCH Regional Medical Center. The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 21, 2018, at Flatwoods Baptist Church with Pastor Bill Gray officiating and Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, A.T. Rushing; second husband, Frank Britt; and sister, Brownie Ruth Jones.
Survivors include her daughter, Karen Rushing Nix of Fayetteville, N.C. and Carol Rushing of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; son, James Rushing of Northport, Ala.; sister, Carol Rowland Reynolds of Newport News, Va.; brother, Ralph Rowland of Northport, Ala.; and grandson, Joseph Nix (Carrie) of Fayetteville, N.C.
Bobbie was born in Fayette, Alabama in 1932. She is a 1950 graduate of Tuscaloosa County High School and a 1995 graduate of Shelton State Technical College. Later in life, she worked and later volunteered at Focus On Senior Citizens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Flatwoods Baptist Church or the Humane Society of West Alabama.
