NORTHPORT Billie Ruth Higgins, age 68, of Northport, died September 2, 2013, at home. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Central Church of Christ with Glenn Griffin and Norman Berry officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at Central Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Joe Higgins; daughters, Vickie Lyle (Jim) and Jan Charles (Joey Kay); sister, Martha Montgomery; and grandchildren, Hunter Lyle, Haleigh Dare (Brandon), and Grayson Charles.
Pallbearers will be Mark Plyler, Chris Clark, Don Bridges, J.L. Madison, Dr. Stephen Browne, and Jonathan Wright.
Honorary pallbearers are Alma and Lynn Higginbotham, Glenn and Lois Griffin, Babs Bridges, Glenda Madison, Mona Plyler, Chandra Clark, J.C. and Jewel White, Harold and Paige O'Quinn, Tracy Windle, and Pam Browne.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Central Church of Christ Building Fund.
