Anthony Norris

A visitation for Anthony will be held Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.

Anthony was born April 27, 1959, and was 65 when the lord called him home. Dwight as everyone called him was raised in Northside Alabama where he graduated and later helped with the football program and all athletics. He worked and retired from 84 Lumber where all his coworkers called him “Papa Smurf.” He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He always had a smile on his face and would help anyone if he could.

He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Norris and his niece, Holli Norris.

Survived by his loving wife of 26 years, JoAnn Norris; Sons, Steve (Rhonda) Poe, Richard (Audrey) Poe and David (Alexis) Poe; Grandchildren, Tyler (Jessalyn) Poe, Erin (Jake) Byars, Haley (Justin) Brasher, Erica(Chris) Keller, Jonica (JaTyree) Poe, Damian Clevenger; Great grandchildren, Justin Jr, Tommie, Daisy, Brantley, Jeremiah, Adeline, Amelia, Camdyn, Oliver, Julian, and Vanessa; His mother, Alice Norris; his brothers, Greg(Suzanne), Dale (Arlene) and his sister, Melinda Cannon Fowler, nieces and nephews and a host of friends and other sportsmen.
