NORTHPORT | Alton Ray "Buck" Kelley, age 70, of Northport, died December 9, 2015, at home. A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at Sunset Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Eula Kelley and sister, Jo Ann Kelley.
Survivors include his wife, Jan Farmer Kelley of Northport, Ala.; daughters Natalie Kelley Lamkins of Fayetteville N.C. and Ashelie White Halla of Hoover, Ala.,; son, Joseph Brian Kelley f Northport, Ala.; sons-in-law, Michael Lamkins and Clay Halla; sister, June Kelley Shackelford of Magnolia, Ark.; nephew, Rick Shackelford; and grandchildren, Arin Kelley, Parker Halla, Clayton Ann Halla and Garrett Halla.
Buck was born in Russellville Ala. and later moved with his family to Aliceville, Ala. He graduated with Aliceville High School Class of 1965 and attended Livingston University.
Buck enjoyed a 30 year career in the plywood industry. He was an avid sports enthusiast and served as a volunteer coach while residing in Grove, Ala. His favorite hobby was golfing. Buck lived a good life and will be missed by all who loved him.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to American Lung Association in Buck Kelley's name.
