Sister Sheila O'Connor

(formerly Sister Patricia Maureen), died peacefully at St. Joseph's Convent on Thursday, August 26, 2010. She is the daughter of the late Walter O'Connor and Johannah Casey. She is predeceased by her sister Maureen and brothers Maury, Desmond and Andrew.

After working for some years in the business world, Sister Sheila entered the Sisters of St. Joseph of Toronto on September 14th, 1960. As a Nursing Assistant, she minstered at Providence Villa (now Providence Healthcare), Morrow Park Infirmary and St. Joseph's Hospital. In 1979 Sister Sheila pursued education in Pastoral Ministry, and served as a Pastoral Minister in Oshawa and Toronto for the next twenty-five years.

In 2005, Sister Sheila moved to Morrow Park where her ministry became one of prayer for the needs of the world. She will be missed by nieces and nephews, friends and her sisters in community.

Sister Sheila's wake will be held at Morrow Park on Friday, August 27th from 3 pm with a prayer service at 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 28th at 10:30 am followed by interment at Holy Cross cemetery.
