Caren and I met in 1973 when we both worked at Tamblyn 's Head office on Sheppard Ave. We had lots of laughs together.
Although Caren and I didn't see each other often, we were the kind of friends, when we got together, we picked right back up again and caught up with each others lives.
I last saw her in November and she did her typical grilling of me for details of my life and my kids, grandkids etc and telling me that I need to keep up on my appointments for my own health problems. That's how she showed her love. God I will miss her. 

Dear Caren. I wouldn’t of met you if our families did not live across from each other in the early ‘90s. You on Spring Garden and I on Greenfield Ave. There, is where I met your son Ben in grade 9 at Earl Haig SS. Our condos were so close we could literally see each other. I knew when Benny was hanging out on the Balcony. We have been good friends since. That is where I also met your cats. Your cats were so awesome and big. You must of gave them treats 24/7. I actually went and got my own because of them. You were always the coolest mom and with that comes the coolest cars you lent to Ben when we were young. Jay, you also had nice taste in whips too and I’m pretty sure Benny drove a few of them. Caren I’m so sorry to hear that you lost your battle with cancer. You are in a better place now. To Ben, Krissy, Tobi, Jay, the Grand Kids and the extended family my thoughts and deepest condolences to all of you. Rest In Peace.  



I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of my good friend Caren Thompson. We grew up together and supported each other leading up to the turbulent teens and beyond. Caren would laugh knowing I still remember swimming in the Don River and what fun we had so many summers ago.

Unfortunately I'm not able to make the service due to ill health but my thoughts and prayers are with your family. 

Kim, I remember you well. My heart goes out to you.

Caren loved her children with a fierceness and intensity that was unparalleled. To me, that was a testament to the kind of loving and wonderful parent she was. May she rest in peace.

I never met Caren in person. I did speak with her on the phone briefly a couple of times. Still, I clearly felt and was inspired by Caren's strength, passion for life, and open heart. I am a friend of Jay's. Today I keep Caren's memory and spirit in my daily meditations and prayers. I keep Jay and all of Caren's and Jay's family memories in my daily meditations and prayers. I send my deepest condolences. 

Dear Jay, Ben and Tobi:

I'm am so sorry for the loss of Karen. I know it is not easy when a loved takes ill. Karen is no longer in any more pain. Rest in peace lady. Your family will be in our thoughts and prayers.
